Ok, forget the cliché "best band ever" garbage. You've heard it all before and I’m sure it gets old.
Here are the facts:
Extra Medium is a solid, well-rehearsed, and committed rock band that is constantly pursuing their potential as individual musicians and as a unified band. They have continuously refined their live performances by playing over 150 shows in 3 ½ years. They are not only comfortable on stage, but they thrive there. Feeding on the energy of a crowd and giving everything they have in order to make the audience experience an amazing rock concert. Stage presence and interaction with the audience makes Extra Medium shows exciting and more personal than your average rock show. The fans always seem to appreciate that and they come back time and time again.
Extra Medium focuses on writing quality songs that could very well be hits on modern rock radio. Their songs grab you and draw out your inner emotions. Whether it jerks a tear from your eye like "Next Time Around," makes you nod your head and give your ex girlfriend/boyfriend the finger like “Obsessed,” or if it gives you the sudden urge to break something like "Abused," their songs will without a doubt make you feel something.
If you want to know precisely what Extra Medium sounds like then give them a few minutes and listen to a song or two. Essentially Extra Medium plays middle of the road modern rock music. It isn’t hardcore scream metal, and it certainly isn’t Third Eye Blind or Matchbox 20. The aptly named Extra Medium is not too hard and not too soft. They play in the sweet spot of rock ‘n’ roll and it is just right for any rock music fan.
This all sounds nice, but what has Extra Medium accomplished in their four years as a band? Extra Medium has performed on many high profile shows like The Weenie Roast (put on annually by 106.5 FM, WEND) and opening slots for national acts Seven Mary Three, Saigon Kick, and Stroke 9. In 2003 Extra Medium was commissioned by the FOX Sports Network to write a song for the intro of the world-wide broadcasted television show “Totally NASCAR.” Extra Medium wrote and recorded “My Day” and filmed a video for it which FOX Sports Network graciously approved and featured on “Totally NASCAR.” Extra Medium has built their fan base by playing shows in Atlanta, Myrtle Beach, Raleigh, and more. They are also consistently one of the largest local draws in Charlotte as well as rated #1 original band by the visitors of CarolinaNightlife.com.
All of this is only the beginning
for Extra Medium. They are currently in the studio recording their first full
length album called “The Warming.” It will be released in the
summer of 2004. Extra Medium plans to tour the eastern United States in support
of “The Warming,” and also enlist the aid of a national management
agency to take the ‘next step’ in their music career. Look for
great things from Extra Medium in the near future. It's what front man Aaron
Goodman has always said, "We set out to be the ultimate rock band, and
we are very much on our way. The industry can't ignore it." You shouldn't
either.
