Behind The Name: Extra Medium - as told by Aaron Goodman

Extra Medium's name was first conceived approximately 4 years ago. It had a humble beginning that started off in none other than the laundry room. Imagine a washing machine. This washing machine, being an almond-colored Whirlpool brand, was located in my house. The washing machine had a laundry load size selector on it. There were three sizes to choose from: Ex Small, Medium, and Ex Large. Well I had noticed this many times before and always thought it looked a little funny. One day while washing some clothes it hit me. "Thats crazy that there is an Ex Small and an Ex Large, but no Ex Medium. The Medium setting is just sitting there singled out by its lack of Ex." I thought this was an interesting observation and the idea of Extra Medium stuck with me.

In January of 2000, the soon to be Extra Medium was still without a name. The four original members pondered on many suggestions. Some of them were: Penny Iylus (Aaron), Armistice (Aaron), Whelmed (Dave), and McFluffy (Nick). Non of these were 100% satisfactory. I then offered my idea of Extra Medium from many years ealier. There were no objections, so the name was then officially Extra Medium.

That is pretty much it. There aren't any underlying meanings to Extra Medium. I suppose that one could try to interpret it in many ways, but there isn't anything official in that relm. Hey, its catchy and its our name. EXTRA MEDIUM!
